Professional Captains
Pura Vida Charters is run by two fully licensed USCG master Captains. This provides charter guests with confidence that they will have a safe and memorable charter. Our Captains have over a combined 40 years of experience on the water. They have both experienced hundreds of hours on the water, which gives them the knowledge and skill to navigate any circumstances that may arise.
The Yacht
Pura Vida is a 2022 Leopard 45 sailing yacht. She was built by Robertson and Caine boatbuilders in South Africa. The boat has an LOA of 45 ft and a beam of 24ft 2in ensuring that you will have a steady ride regardless of sea conditions. Toting a 70 ft mast her mainsail has an area of 841 sqft that can propel her at a comfortable cruising speed of about 8knots, with sufficient wind conditions. On the ride out to the sailing course, she will be powered by two 45 HP diesel Yanmar engines. To assist our Captains in navigation Pura Vida uses state-of-the-art Raymarine electronics and VHF radio to ensure your safety on the water. To assist in the fun Pura Vida is fully equipped with Fusion speakers throughout the entire boat.
Guest Staterooms
Pura Vida offers guests two luxury staterooms that each hold a queen-sized bed and a private bathroom and shower. Each stateroom has a closet for guest use and a large skylight.
Salon and Galley
The main interior of the yacht sports a 360-degree view of the water, and with panoramic windows, you are guaranteed not to miss a moment of the voyage. The salon provides an area for guests to enjoy the air conditioning and escape the heat. The salon table can fold down into a large bed to allow the charter to accommodate up to six guests on overnight voyages.
